STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT
I love this because it sounds exactly like the culture you want to build. It doesn’t read like a list of rules; it sets the standard for the kind of nail technician you want your students to become.
Student Code of Conduct
Rachael Wilders Education
At Rachael Wilders Education, I don’t expect perfection—I expect effort.
Whether you’re attending your very first class or you’re an experienced nail technician looking to develop your skills, my aim is to create a welcoming, supportive and inspiring environment where everyone feels comfortable to learn, ask questions and grow.
I genuinely believe there are no silly questions. I would much rather you ask for help than struggle in silence. I’ll support you as much or as little as you need, but I also expect you to take ownership of your own learning. Great nail technicians aren’t created by simply attending a course—they’re created by practising, researching, asking questions, making mistakes and continually striving to improve.
From the moment you begin your training, I encourage you to think and behave like a professional nail technician. That means taking pride in your work, respecting your clients, maintaining excellent standards of hygiene and safety, arriving prepared, being open to feedback and always looking for ways to improve.
What I Ask of My Students
Be Present
Arrive on time, ready to learn and fully engage with your training. Put distractions to one side and make the most of your investment.
Put the Work In
Success doesn’t happen during one class. It comes from practice, repetition and consistency. I expect you to continue learning long after your course has finished.
Ask Questions
If you’re unsure, ask. If you’re struggling, tell me. I’m here to help, and I’d much rather have an honest conversation than see you lose confidence.
Do Your Own Research
Your education doesn’t begin and end in the classroom. Read, watch, practise, explore new techniques and keep your knowledge up to date. The best technicians never stop learning.
Stay in Your Own Lane
Everyone learns at a different pace. Don’t compare your chapter one with somebody else’s chapter twenty. Focus on becoming a better technician than you were yesterday.
Celebrate other people’s successes, support your fellow students and remember that there is room for everyone in this industry.
Be Professional
Treat everyone with kindness and respect. Bullying, gossip, discrimination or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated.
Respect my time, your fellow students and the learning environment.
Maintain High Standards
Health, hygiene and safe working practices are non-negotiable. These standards protect both you and your future clients and should become second nature from day one.
Accept Feedback
Constructive feedback is one of the fastest ways to improve. It is always given to help you grow, never to criticise you personally. Keep an open mind and trust the learning process.
Practice with Purpose
Don’t simply complete a treatment because you can. Understand why you’re doing each step, question what you’re learning and aim for quality rather than speed.
My Commitment to You
In return, I promise to provide a supportive, honest and encouraging learning environment.
I’ll always do my best to explain things in different ways, answer your questions, share my knowledge openly and help you build confidence alongside technical ability.
I won’t expect you to know everything, and I’ll never judge you for asking for help.
My goal isn’t just to help you pass a course—it’s to help you become a confident, knowledgeable and successful nail professional who can continue growing long after your training has finished.
I believe that good technicians create good nails.
Great technicians build great careers.
Let’s work together to help you become one of them.
I think this captures your teaching style really well. It feels supportive but still sets high expectations, which is exactly how you teach. It encourages students to work hard without sounding strict or corporate, and it reflects your “I’ll meet you where you are, but you need to put the effort in” approach.
ACCESSIBILITY
I understand that every student learns differently.
Where reasonably possible, I will always do my best to accommodate individual learning needs or reasonable adjustments. If there is anything that may help make your learning experience more comfortable or accessible, please let me know before your training begins so we can discuss how I can best support you.
As my classes are taught from a home-based studio, some adjustments may be limited by the layout of the property. However, I will always do my best to work with you to find a suitable solution wherever reasonably possible.
