I’ve been part of the nail industry for over 20 years, and I still wake up every day just as excited about it as I was when I first opened the salon doors. Quite simply… I eat, sleep and breathe nails.
Over the years, I’ve been fortunate enough to wear many nail related hats. I’m an accredited educator, international and national competitor, product developer, mixed media artist and founder of both Rachael Wilders Education and Nail Story. But above all else, I’m a mentor (even though I don’t like that word!), a confidence builder, a gobby cow, a nail mum to many… and definitely your biggest fan. As cheesy as this sounds, helping others discover what they’re capable of in nails is my biggest win.

I genuinely believe that education never stops. No matter how many years you’ve been in the industry, there’s always something new to learn, another technique to master or another artist to be inspired by. That’s why I continue to invest in my own education, attending training, workshops and industry events whenever I can. I firmly believe that if I expect my students to keep learning, I should be doing exactly the same. The nail industry moves at the speed of light!
Throughout my career I’ve competed both nationally and internationally, pushing myself outside my comfort zone and learning from some of the very best artists in the world. Competing taught me discipline, attention to detail and speed. I firmly believe to be be able to mentor and advise, you’ve got to be willing to take advice yourself.
These days, I’m incredibly lucky to teach full-time, sharing everything from accredited beginner qualifications right through to advanced mixed media, fantasy and artistic techniques. Whether you’re picking up a brush for the very first time or you’re an experienced technician wanting to rediscover your creativity, my aim is always the same: to make learning enjoyable, supportive and inspiring.

Creativity has always been my happy place. I adore mixed media because it has no rules. It’s where paint, texture, imagination, storytelling and nail art get dumped into one big melting pot…. And fantasy creations appear… just like magic. It’s messy, it’s exciting… no two days are the same… and for me, it’s completely addictive.
Alongside education, I’ve spent years testing, researching and developing professional products. I often joke that I’ve probably tried almost everything the nail industry has ever produced, and there might be a little truth in that! I genuinely don’t put my name behind a product unless I believe in it completely. If it’s something I recommend or put my name to, it’s because I’d happily use it every single day in my own work and with my students.

At the heart of everything I do is my community. I’ve never believed this industry should be about comparison or competition. My philosophy is simple: swim in your own lane, water your own grass and trust your own journey. There will always be someone doing something differently, but nobody else has your story, your creativity or your perspective.
That’s the environment I’ve worked hard to build. From workshops, formal classes, chatty little playdays… through to endless voiceclips, words of advice if you want them… through to my social media, facebook group and everything in-between. Im lucky to be part of a welcoming community where people feel encouraged to ask questions, try new things, celebrate each other’s successes and grow with confidence.
